Pepakura was working fine, before I upgraded to the latest version on Linux Mint 19.
Since the upgrades. (Registered), I can load a file by dragging and dropping. If I try to save, it crashes. Export, same thing. It's not a problem with registration. Or, I wouldn't be getting save or export options at all.
So, I tried switching to Ultimate Papercraft 3D (registered). It was working ok. Then, somewhere along the line, it went south, and now I can either get a dual window (3D) or a single window (2D), but not a split 2D / 3D windows (the default).
I've tried deleting the settings. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the software.
Neither program supports Linux, so, I can't ask for support. Wine is what I'm using, and it's got no updates for the current versions of Ultimate Papercraft or Pepakura.
I've got another PC, using Linux Mint, 18.3. Pepakura works fine on that PC.
But, not on my default PC. The other PC is my wife's.
I'm also using Blender w/Paper Export Addon. Preferred software is Pepakura. Ultimate Papercraft 3D, even if it was Windows, still leaves a LOT to be desired in workflow and functionality compared to Pepakura.
I'm bouncing back and forth between PCs and software to try to get workable models - even so far as screen caps (Converted to SVG using Inkscape). Which in terms of wanting to export to the PDO gallery, doesn't work.
I've looked at Alternatives.to. There are either discontinued programs, UV Unwrap (not what I'm looking for or tailored to the task of Papercraft), or apps (I don't have an IPad or a Mac), or written for the Mac (I don't have a Mac.
What I do have is Linux and Wine. Which was working fine until recently.
